the array of goods i'm able to purchase in this neighborhood is staggering.

in this order: bar called the slip inn, a greek diner, a convenience store which sells, despite having two full aisles choked to the ceiling w/ cases of bud light, everything under the sun. (sure the usual like soda, beer, snacks, phone cards, videos of foreign movies, random items of unseasonable clothing, hats, guitars, pictures of jesus, packets of seeds, motor oil, 32" standing talking dolls -no shit-) but they even sell the more unusual usual convenience store items. like children. ok, kidding there.

then you get another bar, a place to get your haircut and a grocery store that sells fucking saddles out front. that's right, saddles. three different styles to choose from. that is the coolest thing i've seen around here yet.

i gleaned all this info today because the first store, the one that you would think sells everything, does not sell tortilla chips so i had to walk a little more.

it was worth it. roommate made some fantastic tortilla soup.
