Here is my story. I have been applying to Officer Candidate School since Jan 2004. I joined this site and noticed that many people are against the military and government. I do not have a strong following of friends like the positively accepted military people here on the site. I am doing this because I want to and not because i need money for college or need a better job. it seems like some people i know from elsewhere are in it and are supported because they have to fulfill an obligation and not because they want to.
Lina joined the site and met cool friends. What I did was concocted a tangled web of stories and committed social suicide so that Lina's new friendsips would not be jeapordized. All this time I have been in physical training, dropped 60 lbs, beefed up my professional experience and now have a strong application to OCS. I have my final meeting next week for my second round of endorsements. Since Lina is no longer on the site, I have re-emerged, not caring what anyone thinks, even if only for a brief moment.
Since college, I have wanted to serve my country. But have regretted not doing so because I was blinded by money in the corporate world. So I have been trying to make amends with myself since then and take up arms.
So here I am, my application is in with the D.O.D. so I may take up arms with my bretheren in the desert that gave my family a chance at the american dream. From my grandfather in WW2 to my dad in Vietnam.. and now me. Right now I don't care what everyone thinks about it. So there it is.
Wish me luck in intel, crypto, where ever that may land me
So what have I really been doing all this time since I've joined the site... aside from running/pushups/pullups? I have been fishing, shooting my m1a national match and playing video games. So when it seemed I disappeared for a year, that's all I've been doing.

It was hard cancelling out on things such as prom, bbqs and hanging out and going to rock shows.... so if you feel the need to remove me from your friends list, i understand and no hard feelings
