We had an earthquake here in San Diego. 4 am Tuesday morning. It shook my bed hard enough to wake me up. It was my first earthquake, so I was freaked out for about 10 minutes or so, trying to figure out what it was. I even looked under my bed to make sure nothing mischeivous or supernatural (or both) was under there waiting to pounce. Only after I had exhausted all other possibilities did I finally figure out what had happened. I looked on the internet and there it was -- a 4, at 4, here in San Diego County. Well. Now I know what that feels like.
