Yesterday was great. I woke up in LA, in a murphy bed in brentwood, had a cup of coffee with my hosts and then took off with one of them and one of his friends to go for a post-Thanksgiving surf. It was my first time surfing, so I was a pussy on a longboard. But I did my best. Crouched mostly, but I did stand up a few times (for a few seconds before falling off). I loved it. I'll have to go surfing again soon.
But after all that activity, and even after another couple cups of coffee, the drive back to San Diego was still exhausting. I listened to Tom Waits and Vic Chesnut (and something else too, why can't I remember?). On the way there it was Liz Phair and George Harrison. I also put on Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club band for a while. Love the Beatles, and love that album.

I love the Beatles! And your profile pic = very cute. I'm really really jealous of your surfing. I've been meaning to try myself but I live in Alberta...not a great place to cultivate a hobby such as surfing
