took the ASVAB (armed services vocational assessment battery) and got a 92...which is worse than i did 5 years ago when i got a 99 (its a %score and a 99 is as high as you can score). but it just goes to show you that i forgot 7% of my knowledge between the time i left school and now. but that doesnt matter, i still qualify for every job under the sun in the army. next step is finish my OCS packet, i've got all my recommendations coming to me within the next week (double the number i really need but you cant have too many people speaking well of you, right?), i finished writing my essays, and now all i have left is my physical and 2 interviews to make sure i am of outstanding moral fiber. which i am...
my goal now over the next month is to loose about 10 lbs. nothing too major. i'm gonna cut my food intake down as i figure when in basic they'll feed me less cause i'm so much bigger than everyone else. and then i'll up my exercise a bit. i've already been going to the gym 5 times a week, so now i'm gonna start each morning with a jog. i can do an 8 min mile easy now but i want to get it down to 7 before i ship off (which wont be till august no matter what).
oh shit, u know what i forgot. for my recommendations. i contacted my old ROTC cadre members and asked them for references. well, as it turns out MAJ Driscoll is now LT COL Driscoll in charge of Nat Guard recruitment for all Massachusetts. and i'm totally getting a letter of recommendation from him (which essentially guarantees me in).
