hiccups. real bad.

i usually find them amusing more than annoying. cause isnt it funny how when you stop thinking about them, they go away. not funny haha but peculiar. how you cant get rid of them on your own but as soon as you forget they are there, they are gone.

tip of the day:
if you're gonna talk about the BP oil spill...

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless...

I think being able to pee while standing is a better perk than avoiding the bieber fever.

happy 4th of july everyone.

amarena:
I think you missed MY point. WWII, in my opinion was the last war "fought for a cause". There was evil to be overcome indeed. But I don't think anyone "deserves to die". Not the Nazis and definitely not the Holocaust victims.

I will always respect soldiers. They do shit that has to be done. What makes me so upset is the fact that people on both sides die unnecessarily. And yes, I know people will argue with things like "Freedom ain't Free". That's fine if you believe that. I don't think death should ever be a price to pay.

And what sickens me about songs like that is how snooty and flippant the lyrics seem to be. Yes. Obviously the singer is not implying that soliders literally died for something as trivial as a can of Bud Light. It's the implication behind it that angers me. It's as if they're saying "we're the fucking best, aren't we?" with proud, smug grins on their faces. The suggestion that America has it all figured out, and that "our way is the right way". That's what irks me about it.

And how damn near fetishistic it gets with all the "We'll put a boot in your ass, It's the American way" crap. Our national anthem glorifies war ("The bombs bursting in air" Classy. puke ) The fireworks display I saw was sponsored by the national guard. Seems like such a calculated, sad ploy. Tears induced by Lee Greenwood singing "God Bless the USA" + Sentimental fireworks + Americans scared into vilifying "anyone who don't salute the Red White and Blue" (ie other cultures, etc) = new recruits to go die.

i know i've talked about me thinking about the coast guard for quite a while now, but i'm starting to sway back towards the army (my original choice) and the reason is that they offer so many more jobs (think hundreds of thousands compared to like 25). so that way i can pick a career that interests me, get trained in it, shoot some awesome...

it started when i was like 11? my little brother's grandparents were Red Sox and Braves fans, and just got into them there. And I didn't really ever like the Cincinnati Red's. So smile the tradition sticks. And also, I fkn love Youkilis......he's a Cincinnati native biggrinlove
