I’ll start this by saying I don’t believe in horoscopes. I find that they’re always so vague that you could read any star sign’s horoscope and be able to apply it to yourself. That being said, when you look at personality traits which are a bit more specific in astrology they seem to indeed be true.
So I’m a pisces, last of the zodiac year, a water sign represented by the symbol of two fish. The two fish swimming in opposite directions symbolises the duality of piscean nature. We’re often described as caring more about others than ourselves. We’re emotional and sensitive often taking an introspective view of our experiences and feelings.
In most astrology texts, Pisces are described as having unparalleled compassion and empathy. We feel the pain of others and want to always try to help with that.
When I used to read about astrology I always felt my personality was exactly fitting to Pisces and not any other zodiac. I even once took part in a study where you read passages relating to different zodiacs but weren’t told which one was which, then you had to pick what you felt described you. I had an easy pick, and it did turn out that it was for pisces.
I care a lot about others, often detrinenting myself in order to help others. I have financially crippled myself, I’ve halted my career, I’ve let myself feel invisible, all for others. It makes me happier, even if I feel sad, that others have achieved and feel good rather than leaving people behind to advance myself. I’m also extremely emotionally sensitive, as my current friends would all agree with. The smallest thing can have an affect on me. It’s something I just need to work on continuously.
Like I said, I don’t believe in horoscopes. I don’t read them cause I don’t believe that my decisions or experiences would be any different if I did. I do however try to understand my traits and how those affect my decisions and feelings. Am I overreacting about something a friend did cause that’s my nature, or is how I’m feeling valid. It’s a question I ask myself every day. I truly believe in listening to yourself, whether it’s about astrology or not.
What zodiac are you? Do you believe in it?
