today is the eight year anniversary of the death of my (and many others) friend Matt Davis, who awoke suddenly on August 10, 2003 with sevre respritory problems and passed away in the car of his girlfriend, in the presence of her and his sister on the way to the ER.
Matt met lots of people around iowa city and the US by playing in loud, passionate, and creative bands, the most noteworthy being Ten Grand. He was the type of guy who'd hug you on your first meeting and be your friend forever if you make him laugh. He is remember by us all as being one of the nicest and warmest people we ever came into contact with and that love was displayed by the number of beat up vans that ushered in friends from all other the US to attend his memorial. we could all be so lucky to meet someone like Matt Davis during our lifetime.
the screamy guy in the dreads.
