yay to having internet again. for a few days there those silly neighbors of mine had their wireless down. they should have fixed the problem quicker, there are at least 5 people i know of (not including them) that relay on their password free goodness for internerd addictions.


bought the new Anthony Bourdain book and am enjoying it thusfar. also bought a book on charcuterie and even though i don't have the means to make things like sausages (ie. grinder, hopper, casings) i'm going to give some of the easier dry cure stuff a try. homemade bacon here we come!

whole restaurant buyout night which translates to easy money. i guess its a Bat Mitzvah that we are catering. my bar mitzvah party was at my local (and still favorite) hot dog place, Michael's in highland park. i don't know how much it was to rent the joint for the night but i can sure as hell say that it wasn't the $25,000 these folks put up for just the ROOM. i also can actually go in at my in time, instead of the hour or so early i usually go in and work (for free) just to make sure i'm set up on time. ahhh blissful saturday.
