being bummed out on a girl sucks ass. she's a good one too, which makes it worse oh well . . .


at least work is going pretty well. i've embraced the fact that my station gets pounded every night. since then i've been more focused and have been happy with my cooking. this past week was pretty fun. we have this Culinary Institute of America extern right now who's a fairly stuck up 21 year old girl. works clean decent knife skills and has only gotten more stuck up as she's been rotated around pantry, hot apps, pizza, and pastry. well this past week she trained with me on my station and it took about an hour into service for her to be humbled working on my station. by friday she basically begged the chef to let her work another station. i cook six out of ten entrees, control the pace of the line, and work two stations. when she was training i was calling tickets, cooking, and instructing her on what she needed to do. now i'll be the first to admit, i can be an asshole at work. but sometimes its a necessary trait in a senior line cook. and i wasn't unreasonable i just think she thought she was the shit and realized very quickly she had a long way to go. sometimes its fun to put these CIA kids in their place.
