thurs: leave Vail at 6am to get to DIA nice and early as i hate stressing out when flying. Scheduled departure 10:45. Arrive at roughly 9am, get to gate at 9:15.
Plane delayed until 12:09. fuck.
Arrive in NYC, meet Phil (friend since 1st grade) cab to brooklyn. Chill.
Dinner at Blue Ribbion Sushi. My first real sushi since japan. very good.
Today we woke up around 9 and got out of the house around 10:30. Hopped the subway to Manhattan so Phil could indulge my worst tourist desires. checked off the list was Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Went by the the Late Show building, lunch at Carnegie Deli, and the ferry to the Statue of Liberty.
Drank house made beers at McSoreley's the oldest bar in NYC (a reprinted article from 1913 on the menu referred to it as an "ancient bar") which served delicious porters and ales in probably 12 oz mugs that come 2 for $5.
Dinner was at Les Halles the restaurant Anthony Bourdain was the executive chef.
Late night drinks at a local bar to watch the Hawks game. Catching up with 2 more friends whom i haven't seen in over 5 years.
tomorrow will depend on weather and hangovers but plans are brunch at Prune (the much lauded restaurant of Gabrielle Hamilton) and some sightseeing in brooklyn.
Sunday its off to chicago.

Sounds like your having a good time. Does Bourdain even cook anymore or just do that show? I think the Hawks came back to where they left off after the Olympics!
