so i was at the grocery store yesterday buying stuff for a grill out when my roommate calls. he was at his office, our other roommate was home. She had called him. There was a dude running around our neighborhood with a shotgun yesterday, shooting at whatever. i don't really know what happened, as there is no sort of "breaking news" type of thing. but i drove to my roommate's office where we called the Police and they confirmed that the incident at that time was "ongoing". turns out it was about 2 blocks away from where i live. as far as i know no one was killed and the dude was arrested.
so i went with my roommate to his friend Hunter's house for a grill out. good people real good food. Inge and I did grilled Elk loin with grilled artichokes, asparagus, and onions. i also made some potato salad which everyone really enjoyed. Once everyone was nice and lubed up the subject o Michael Vick came into conversation. One dude would not be swayed on the fact that what Vick did wasn't wrong. that eating a hamburger is just as bad as fighting pit bulls. i'm sure some silly vegans would agree. and yes animals are raised for food and slaugthered and blah blah blah. but to my knowledge the cows aren't hung by their necks from trees or drowned in swimming pools to make them super vicious in order to fight each other to the death.
i tried not to rock the boat too much, as i was really just the roommate of a friend of the host's, and i was the only one NOT from Alabama or Georgia at this gathering. and the conversation was somewhat my fault because this kid kept saying how Vick was a free agent, so i pointed out that he wasn't, to which this kid attacked me by saying "how much sports to you watch dude, he's a free agent" and i told him that i obviously watch WAY more than him because if he paid attention he'd know that Vick isn't even a football player right now . . . he's a construction worker making $5 less an hour than i make.
luckily no one else agreed with dogfighting kid, everyone was actually pretty disgusted with him, and i left right after the nuggets beat the lakers.

they sure are. they are very good dogs, until some stupid thug trains them to be otherwise. i wanted to punch that kid in his face.
