not that i love being freezing cold on the hill or anything, but its been warm here. like way to warm for feb and march. there are spring snow conditions already (super heavy snow, slush that grabs at your board and slows you down) and when its not snowing its like 40 out. its making it hard to be motivated to get up and ride, but that's like saying its hard to get motivated to have a million dollars . . . its really not THAT hard. i'm close to 40 days this season (i lost track in the 20's) and i feel that i've made some good adjustments to my overall riding. things like better form, adjusting to light and terrain conditions, and launching myself off more natural hits. maybe one of these days i'll re-teach myself riding switch and start doing rotations again.
not related to snowboarding . . . i've decided that i'm going to search for a new place too cook at. i feel that my time at the hotel has run its course. i've done quality work there and learned some things, but i feel that its time to work for a new team of chefs so i can learn some new tricks. my good friend works over at the Ritz Carlton in Beaver Creek and i'm thinking that's probably my best option for work. I haven't decided if i'll make the move in May when i get back from Japan or in the Fall after the summer season. i guess it will depend on A) when the ritz is hiring and B) whether or not the one chef i absolutely cannot stand gets moved into the banquet dept. if that happens i'm gone asap.

caught your comment on the Food Network Chet thing, replied and then checked you out in that order-- Can't say that I"ve ever been to Avon--spent half my life in Allenspark and thereabouts up north of you--grew up in FC, moved out here to New York and bought 70 acres for $500 a pop. Have four neighbors, and three of those are horses! much better!! We don't have mountains, but we do have a ton of trails and water; no skiing in easy access (but since I shattered my knees (again) that's not a priority any more).
I'm interested to see you're a cook. I'm not, but definitely travel the world on my stomach!
Best meal to date: oddly enough was an Indian meal in Glasgow. and that includes traveling high and low-class around India itself. (where the 2nd through about 100th best meals came from)
cheers!
