its thunderstorming and i wish i could just hang in bed today instead of trekking out to work.

i could use a weekend, this week will be #4 in a row without consecutive days off.

election years bum me out. i already can't wait for it to be over.

i wrote a $2000 check today. earnest money payment on the the condo. that's the largest check i've ever written. its a month's pay for me. yikes.

nothing like a whole night of dreams about the ex girlfriend to really ruin the day before it starts. yick.

week number 3 with no consecutive days off.

back and forth back and forth.

i took the promotion at the hotel instead of the sous job. many factors but in the end i think its the best decision right now. good pay, job security, easy commute from apartment and future condo, all factors.

hopefully i won't regret it, but i've actually seen improvment from the management lately, so that's it.

no word yet on the sous job. if i don't have an email by end of work tonight i'll drop her a line.

spring menu kicked off at IPO last night. to be honest i think its a real good menu. all the new dishes taste and look great. certainly another step in progression since the menu when i started. i guess its a compliment...

condo inspection went well today

also had the easiest time ever at the DMV. i am now offcially an Illinois resident.

interview at the restaurant for the sous chef job went pretty well. the chef seemed to like me and she was very forthcoming on what the problems are with their current sous chef. i still have plenty of questions to ask, mostly about how tight she runs her kitchen. next step is a tasting.

thanks all. today's interview was what corporations call a "personality interview" where the poor HR person has to ask you ridiulous form questions like "give an example of when you helped to solve a problem" stuff like that. I hate interviews like that, but its a formality when dealing with a big company. when it comes down to it my bosses know what they get...
