so my interview went well. spoke with the chef and we seemed to be after the same things. he asked me to come back tomorrow to meet the hotel's director of operations, and of course i agreed.

then, about an hour later he called me and asked me to come in earlier and do a three course tasting for him. now .. . if i...

Mmm...chorizo and apple...sounds amazing indeed!

I'll take all of that except the muscles and clams and if the calamari is fried it has to just be in rice flour if not you can just skip that. You can also skip the fondue as well. Although, I'd try the muscles and clams but no guarantees on me asking for more. I'll also take that steak medium-well and that's no pink thank you very much.

Please and thank you biggrin

See, this is why I don't go out to eat. Haha.

I hope it goes awesomely and that this turns out to be what you are looking for/want.

i wasn't actually that worried, and didn't think it was anything but an infection that had already worked its way out, but having a doctor tell you "its not cancer" is well worth the price of having a colonoscapy.

I'm so not looking forward to doing that puke

done. so happy to be done at blackbird. what a shame.

really looking forward to my interview on wednesday, i really think i can get this job.

well Blackbird you fucking blew it. with a little more effort, guidence, and organization you could've had a dedicated, ass kicking line cook who wanted nothing more than to keep the standards high. but you're lazy and scatterbrained. too worried about, i don't know what, to write your recipes down, keep things consistant, and make sure your employees have the information they need. you are...

Bummer! But good riddance!

Good luck with the interview!
leib_:
Well that's just silly.

And no, they don't normally give a shit as long as you're being respectful.

And for you, on to bigger and better things!

fuck. today was shit. not ready, deliveries late, which put me in the shit, which is of course, my fault. i've decided that although i really wanted too, and am trying to thrive at Blackbird, the disorganization of the hierarchy is proving to be too much for me. apparently everyone else there works perfectly fine without any direction or data to look to when they...

work got better thursday and friday. since it seems unlikey that i'm actually going to be trained how to work at this place, i just started doing what i think it right. if it because a problem, well, i guess i'll cross that bridge when i come to it.

after the iowa victory today my mind went right back to work.

all i can think...

Yeah, trust your instincts! If you're not getting trained (which is wacky) then that's all you can do.

i am starting to get a little frustrated. i'm new and still unfamiliar, but don't seem to be getting much help from my overlords. trust me, i want to succed, i can do the work no problem when given the tools to succed. who knows if i'll ever get them. being talked down to about preparing an item i was never shown how to do...

back from breckenridge. man i realized how much i miss the mountains.

dad's 1974 Triumph TR6 ran great the whole trip and it was a beautiful drive on the way there. on the way back we pounded the interstate which alwasy sucks.

the convention was great, lots of nice cars, lots of familiar faces i hadn't seen in a while.

my dad was also inducted...
