Oh my god...what a gorgeous day yesterday was. First and foremost, Sam and I went to watch my two kids in their cheerleader contest. I am so proud of them both. Josh's group won overall first for their division, bringing home a nice trophy. Zoe won all 1s for her "individual" cheer group (I put that in quotes because it was five of them, not sure how five people does not constitute a group...but oh well), and Josh ended up getting recruited by three different universities at the end of the day. I was like..holy crap. I am so proud of him.
His mother came up for the contest as well, and we all thought (the kids, Sam and I, my parents, Sam's mother [who went as well]) all thought that since their mother was in town, that she was going to spend time with them after the contest. So, after Josh and Zoe were done, we told them goodbye and left (there was three hours AFTER they were done before the trophies and stuff were handed out...and Sam nor I wanted to stick around for that long) and we went up to Lawrence to go have our already planned cook out with them, since we thought what we did. HOWEVER, we were told later last night that their mother just took off and didn't wait till the end of the event, nor did she say hi.
Sam and I felt so bad at the end of it all, because we would have taken them up with us to the cook out if we would know that their mother would have done this.
However, I did get three good photos of Sam and her parent's dog Alice yesterday. It was a perfect weather day, sunny with the high of like 72. It was awesome.
