Okay, sometimes it's really disturbing to hear how really smart women will make some of the most obviously dumb mistakes ever. (Might be that whole balance in life; with the good there is evil, etc)
This girl Jess, is an amazingly bright and sweet girl. She's super smart. Hell, I get tax advice from her let alone math help sometimes... She's funny, a little feisty, strong-willed and well opinionated (sometimes too much.)
Well, I guess after 3 long yrs of off-again and on-again, her boyfriend dumped her. Now, I know we've all been there (I have) where you just can't seem to accept the fact that it's over. Sometimes, it's just "a break' and sometimes it's for real.
In this case it was the final straw. Very much so that he wants to arrange a day where she can come by and pick up her stuff. Now, myself I would shrug it off, and move on... but Jess hasn't. It's been 3 weeks. She thought he'd call her by now apologizing and begging for her back...
She had a plan where she had baseball tickets and had planned to invite her ex-boyfriend to the game.. Yes, I know a BAD idea.. But she has a spare outfit in the car to change and was hoping "make this a make-up date.' um, usually it's the person that did the dumping that would want to make-up.
Apparently this guy got tired of her over-bearing opinions and complaining. They were 2 polar opposites: He was patient, nice, and forgiving. SHE: Opinionated, pushy, and on a short fuse... i can see where they wouldn't really work out.
Anyways, she's upset cause she realized that this is an act of desperation to get him back. I say "fuck him', not meant to be for him--- she'd be for someone else who is more compatible. I understand with the history and time, it would be hard.. but now is the time to really cut your ties and start afresh. For fuck's sake she's only 21! She's got her whole life ahead of her.
But yeah, it's just heartbreaking to hear of a strong and smart gal like her succumb to her emotions and desperation. But in due time she'll be okay.
(Oh shit! She's on her cellphone right now, leaving a VM to her ex!
