I went to see Opeth last night and my God it was so gooooood. First the bands (Devin Townshed Band, Dark Tranquillity and Opeth) had some problems at the borders. Devin Townshed didn't even make it in Canada. So the gig was Dark Tranquillity and Opeth. I was really happy about that, because originally, DT was supposed to play 40 minutes and only 8 songs. With Devin Townshed not there, they played a much longer set: 13 songs for a little more than an hour. They played some classic songs like Lethe and Zodijackyl Light that they weren't suppose to play (complete set list below). DT is a great band live. What your hear on the record is what they play live. They are great stage man, they communicate very well with the crowd and most important of all, they seems to enjoy their time.

Opeth was absolutely marvelous (set list below). These guys are such great musician it's amazing. They're also really regular guy. The singer didn't scream once. He had a conversation with the crowd, being very calm and funny. They played for 2h15. It was really great.

At the end of the show, I was in line to get my coat when I realize that the bass player for DT was at the T-shirt stand. I went to him and spoke a little bit with him, just wanting to say thanks and congratulate them on the concert. He was really fun to speak with and he seems to appreciate that I went thanked him.
