this is why my job is completely fucking awesome excluding all the other rad stuff:

some background first. the small independant liquor store that i work at has two apartments on the second floor. the back apartment has an older stoner couple that are always behind on rent and never complain about anything. the front apartment has a couple dudes that install marble countertops and one of the dude's girlfriends. they make real good scratch and spend it partying every weekend. my posistion at the liquor store is a mish mash of greeter/night manager/bartend advice dude/merchadiser. i work friday and saturday nights for the stories.
this saturday night, one of the dudes from upstairs wanders in right before closing time with a girl he had met at the bar. she was obviously way smashed already and it was only nine at night. anyhow, he gets some scratch off tickets and buys her a mountain dew. i don't see them leave but i hear the door bell chime as the door gets opened and closed. fast forward fifteen minutes. i've just closed the store and turned out all the lights, etc. i set the alarm, lock the front door and head to my truck. the girl from upstairs sees me and asks if i've seen a blonde girl. i say not since she was in the store with dudeman. well, turns out the girl is missing. they decide to check in the bushes around the store to see if she passed out in em and i agree to see if she was in the store. so i go through all the bullshit of going back into the store. i start looking around the aisles. no girl. i look in the bathroom. no girl. i look in the back storage room. no girl. i look in the beer cooler. no girl. as i am walking out of the beer cooler, i see a foot sticking out from between stacks of beer cases. girl. she's snoring quietly, passed out in a little alcove in stacks of beer overstock. i go get the cats from upstairs and they get the girl to half walk, half get dragged out of the store and then upstairs. i lock the store back up and head home.

i love my job.
