here's the deal with the pic. a few years ago i went otb (over the bars, i'm not a gambler...) at a fairly fast clip onto a rather rough asphalt parking lot. yes, i was wearing a helmet. yes, it probably saved my life. no, i didn't have insurance. yes, i did basically buy a boat for a doctor out of the deal. yes, i had to eat pb&j and ramen to make ends meet when i was paying the medical bills. the reason i use the pic is that it reminds me that even when things are really shitty, i can still make it through. in some sick, twisted way, i'm proud of the fact that i f'd up pretty bad and still pulled through. although, the ten hour drive home with one eye swollen shut was very taxing.
