FIREWORKS !!!
Ok, so I realized last night that I am not cut out to photograph fireworks. Seriously, I kept looking up and going "oooohhh" and then looking at the camera and realizing the shutter had been wide open for ....
several seconds... I tried, but I enjoyed the show more than anything. There is something wonderful about experiencing fireworks, the feeling in your body when they go boom, watching the rocket shoot up in the air, the spread of the ''fire blossoms", beautiful. I can't fully convey the subjective experience. It is enthralling
I went to a local fair here in Alpharetta. I was going to go into the city, but after cooking lunch for everybody, we were all...
....laid out like dogs after eating. After a nice siesta, I decided to walk to the local fair. Lucky I did b/c most of the shows in the city were canceled b/c of rain. I had a lot of fun. I ate cotton candy and laughed at all the kids in the play area, (and of course saw fireworks)

Your mentioning being too hot for strawberries reminded me of a former housemate from Sri Lanka who loved strawberries, but they are a luxury item there. Apparently they grow them out there but at great trouble in special glasshouses. He was fascinated to see how easily & rampantly they will grow here. Still I'm sure all climates produce foods that are 'potential weeds' but cost a fortune elsewhere.
I do love fireworks - though the loud ones terrified me as a child. When you photograph them next, try a few shots whilst moving the camera around - or just jogging it. Although they won't all work I have got some wonderful effects by doing that.
