I have the urge to just ramble on so, im going to talk about preferences. I am just fascinated how everyones brains function differently to the point that everyone has different preferences to everyone else, you will get those people who will have those similar ones, but nobody will have the exact same one, on the rare chance that could happen, befriend/marry them, you clearly need them in your life haha.
Even the fact that as you get older, you mature and your tastes change, your physical and metaphorical ones, as a kid, chicken and chips whilst watching cartoons is the fucking shit, it is your favourite thing in the whole world (possibly), now it could be the idea of going out drinking with mates and getting pissed, or having a quite night in on your own or with a loved one.
It is one of my favourite things when meeting/talking to a new person, finding their preferences, seeing how much of a match they are to me, it is the finding out, and I dont just mean in girls, i mean in friendship too, the more you can find out about someones preferences, the closer you can get to them, even if they arent the same as yours, if you appeal to theirs, it can make them a little happy. For example you could join a partner or friend in something they enjoy, it is not your prefered activity, but it makes them happy, and it builds the friendship/relationship.
Plus I like the idea that other peoples preferences can rub off on you, as an example i was a huge pop punk fan in college, and many of my friends were into metal, and over time i grew into it through those friends, my tastes changed and i barely listen to pop punk anymore, and even then, my tastes are changing again, and i prefer to listen to straight up hardcore now, that shit pleases my ears more than most at the moment, and im sure many times over this will change and rotate as more music comes and goes.
