i had the most awesome time hanging out with katerina yesterday. straight up she's one of the most awesome chatters i've ever met, not that i get the chance to meet many.
i was still pretty groggy from the over-the-counter sleeping pills i took at 8AM to try to get to sleep, so the minute she came over i kind of plopped back in bed and she didn't mind at all. we layed around talking for a few hours. mostly shit-talk, which is what we're both really good at.
she stuck around and decided to go out to see Total Science with me at the Ruby Room, which is about down the street from my house. she was at my side most of the entire night, and got to meet just about all of my friends. i mean, most people around here know me as false and false only, however, she's the first to really see the "will guise" side of things.
she's the first chatter to meet a lot of my real friends, and that was a little scary because i didn't know how she'd act in a situation like that, but she's so awesome and everyone pretty much loved her. the awkward smile we gave each other when my friend sarah (who is VERY protective of me when it comes to females) asked us how we met.
total science went on at about 12:30. kat and i were sitting down TRYING to talk (few people kept coming up to me to make conversation). spinback of TS was having problems with one of the CDJs. all of a sudden over the mic i hear 'WILL GUISE. WILL GUISE TO THE STAGE. WE NEED WILL GUISE AT THE STAGE." i run through the crowd, and i'm pretty much thinking that i had to run back to my house to grab one of my working CDJs to get the party back going. stephean is rushing me out of the club and i grabbed kat to let her know that i had to run back to my house to grab it. wanted her to come with me so i didn't completely leave her alone at the club (even though it was only going to be about 15 minutes).
we ran back with eric (definitely san diego's top drum & bass promoter) to my house real quick. kat was so cool and down with everything. it was fun to take her on a stupid little DJ adventure.
got back to the club with my CDJ and the party was ready to go. apparently spinback was stuck playing one tune after one tune, and as soon as i hooked up the CDJ, he was in the mix and the party was going. i pretty much saved the entire night. was an AWESOME night of drum & bass. kat and i danced the entire time. <3 toward the end sarah came up and started dancing with kat, and it was so cute to see how she was really embraced by my friends.
she stayed over and we had the most amazing time. she's so gangster. it was so cool to have a chatter that's just down as fuck and ready to deal with anything. i don't think i could have ended up with a better person from chat to actually come out and be out in my world with my friends. i hope she'll visit again and we hang out way more.

When i first took Michaela out to D&B events in Philly she was really overwhelmed by me knowing 95% of the people in the club, including the out of town guests from all over the world. And i would get pulled in this direction or that and she hung in there and didnt complain. So i fully understand the relief you felt having brought someone into that realm and seeing them manage it.
