Well, I made it on to the front page of the Arizona Republic with my Fahrenheit 9/11 quotes. They really missed the one thing I said I'd hope they would print; I was trying to make all us "lefties" sound a little intelligent. It's ok, though, becuase most of the quotes attributed to "righties" were from 17-year-old morons who said the movie was all "Bush-bashing" (although I saw it to be pretty lacking in the ad hominem attack department).

What really bothers me is that there's a lot of people out there who dislike the movie simply because it's "anti-Bush." The fucking thing could (and, in some places, kinda DOES) drop irrefutable evidence that their fucking Texan Messiah is a bad, bad man... and yet they refuse to even see the movie. It's the same phenomenon as Christians avoiding everything that makes them uncomfortable (which is ironic, considering the hand-in-hand nature of the political right and conservative Christian public). Anything that might actually make them think, might actually make them change their mind, they avoid like the plague. It's like having an opinion and standing by it is not so important as making sure you're opinion isn't full of logical fallacies or ignorance.

Whatever. Historical momentum means indicates that this whole country will collapse on itself within the next hundred years or so, so why worry? Praise Byzantiu-I mean, Egyp-, er, um, Rome? The Ottoman Empire? Holy Roman Empire? Colonial British Empire? I keep forgetting which one we are.

PS: Further Transformers news... while goin through the mounds and mounds of plastic and tape and cardboard they insist on packaging toys in these days, I found out that my recently-purchased firetrucker Transformer (who apparently goes by the name "Inferno") can actually combine with another robot of the same size to create a much more powerful Autobot warrior. This is way too intriguing. Check back later for more details.
