Next sunday follows my birthday.

Next sunday is the most important day of the year for me.

It's amazing what can happen in the span of a week. For example, this week I got to know Someone truly wonderful and lovely. Until this point I don't think she can be compared to anyone else I have met in my life. I've never connected so fully so fast with someone, and it's awe-inspiring. So clearly the events of a week can go extremely well.

But this coming week brings me to contemplation of a week that happened a very long time ago. Today, a people accepted a Person into their city with the welcome fitting a king. 5 days later, they will have him escorted out of the same city with the disgust reserved for the worst of criminals.

these people aren't to blame. they were whipped into a frenzy by their religious leaders, and I for one find religious leaders to be much the same today as they were back then; Fanaticism is the spirit of the crowd that cried "Crucify!". Even these leaders however, were not responsible for what was to take place, nor the executioners whom they had commit the deed so as to not break any of their laws. This Person blamed no one, and went to His fate fully in control, doing so for a purpose.

This week, I'm going to be thinking about what happened in that era, and how it affects me today, and commenting on a few things I think are important to take away from this week of reflection.

Hi. Thanks for checking up on me.

I found your words wonderful and comforting. Then I took a little while to ponder them (and a break from SG). Before you emailed me, I was thinking of quitting but also knew that I should spend some time thinking about it so I wouldn't regret it. And I'm glad I did, so thank you. At this point I find myself still searching for God, but with a clearer head and trying not to let the influence of Christians determine what I do instead of what God would have me do.

So thanks again. smile
