Here is a group of posts I have made regarding our recent car purchase gone wrong....instead of rewriting everything...
So, that car we bought... yeahhh... we got fucked. the trans is slipping and we can't afford to rebuild or replace it. brett took it out again to the grocery store (before we actually registered it. illegal, but thank effin god he did) and it clunked around trying to go from park to first, then from first to second...and then the check trans light came on... we spent most of our tax return money on that because we had nothing else. the guy's phone is disconnected, so we can't even try to fucking scream at him and get our money back so the only hope is to sell it (honestly, letting people know about the trans) and get at least some of our money back. I'm so fucking upset about this. How can you sell anything, let alone a car to someone and not be honest? He knew it was to put two children in and had no fucking problem selling it to us, giving the chance for something horrible to happen.
I looked up the address from the title and found a number...turns out the girl that sold it to him knew there was a problem. she bought it 2 weeks prior from a dealership for $2300 and a week later, the trans started. dealer wouldn't do anything, so she decided to sell it for $600 and told him all the problems. she didn't even have the title from the dealer yet, but he took the car anyway and never gave his name, but told about his parents that lived nearby in rhode island (where he bought the car. it's never been registered since the dealership). so he had illegal jersey plates on the car for weeks and warmed up the car so it wouldn't show the problems it had (what a mechanic told the girl, it wouldn't act up once it was warmed up enough) and sold it to us for $1500. oh yeah...he forged her signature on the title. but she had a different phone number than me for contact, so i got that and she said she'd be happy to submit a statement in court that she told him about the problems when she sold it to him.
this douche bag is going to pay one way or another. not sure if he knows, but forgery is illegal. going to the police station with everything tonight.
