Things have been going fairly well with the home daycare. However, I will be terminating care of one of the children. He's started to wear off on another one of the kids with me (she has started the tantrums and talking back, hitting her mother..she's a bit of a follower) and I just can't handle fighting to care for a child. He refuses to do anything, hits, throws things, throws tantrums throughout the day. I told his parents today that I will give them a week to find alternate care. I feel bad for his father, because he really is a sweet man and I can tell that he's trying with him. His mother, however, I think is more concerned with her boyfriend and going to hockey games than disciplining her child. Of course, I can't voice my opinion of their parenting, but suggested he get more one-on-one care in the future to help him get through this "phase".

I tried to continue caring for him and working with him, but I can't compromise my sanity or the other children's upraising to do so. I kind of feel like I've failed, but I know that I tried with him. I had him before he came to my house and offered to continue in hopes that he would get better, but he's regressed.


Anyway, if anyone needs childcare or knows someone in need, I now have an opening for full-time care for a child between 2 and 4 years of age.
