i love lauren. tonight i pulled her back by the dishwasher and said:

"hey, the ice lady creeps me out."
"me too! she thinks i'm her friend or something... sometimes she asks me about what she should do with her hair--"
"--me too! it's so weird. she'll be like 'what does my hair look like today? i think i should have left it shorter. do you think it's the same look you told me last time?'"
"yeah, and one time she had me smell her hand. she bought this new cologne and she wasn't sure if it was men's or not so she wanted me to smell it."
"weird."
"yeah. and then there's that hindu guy that just STARES. he just watches you, constantly."
"ooh he creeps me out too! he asked me out for coffee! i told him yeah talk to me later (cuz he was holding up the line), but the staring creeps me the hell out! that's why i haven't gone back and said 'hey, we should make a time for coffee' or whatever."
"ew. ugh. that's why i always want someone to walk with me when i take out the trash at night."

lauren is probably my favorite person to work with, other than tim. tim calls everyone 'man'. and gives me double high fives all the time.
i'm glad lauren is creeped out too... i was beginning to think it was just me. coffee shop regulars are strange, i tell you.
there's one lady that goes to the other shop that is huge. she wears bright pink lipstick. she goes outside and smokes one drag off her cigarette and then throws it on the ground. when she leaves there's a pile of like 10 of them on the ground in the same place. you can tell they're all hers because they're all covered with pink lipstick.
i wonder what goes on in their heads.

most of the time they're pretty easy to deal with,
but other times, wow, i need a gun. but i guess
i understand because their pets are like children.
