i just got home from the coffee shop. i get tips there, $13 yesterday and $15 today, which is good, because it supplements the fact that the job pays $6/hr otherwise. but it moves so fast! you have 10 people in line ordering 20 different things in 100 different variations...
-small medium large
-here or to go
-with or without whip cream
-whole, skim, 2%, soy, cream, water: steam to 150
degrees. don't burn it, don't make it too cold.
-frothy or not
-shots of espresso can't sit for more than 30 seconds, so that drink you just made isn't good anymore. make another one and remember the orders of the 5 next people in line also. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!! this is the hardest job i've ever had.
and then there's foreign people with heavy accents, and people who speak really quietly over the airplane-sound of the cappuccino machine, and then get angry when you have to ask them 3 times what they said.
AND tomorrow they're going to have me work for THREE HOURS ALONE. three hours! i think it was not wise to schedule me alone yet! i am still learning how to do the job. hopefully i don't go insane or give someone a huge burn with hot large-half-decaf-skim-latte-with-a-shot-of-sugar-free-vanilla-syrup-to-go.
in other news, i have MAJOR respect for
this woman. i watched her het suspended and become a human pincussion the other night at the inferno. the piercing in one side of the face and out the other was pretty badass, but i had to cringe at the four nipple piercings. i've done that shit before. i KNOW how much that hurts. that lady's got some balls.

I love coffee...I try to keep it simple when I order generally, but sometimes I have the certain variations that have to be made...
