i saw kerry speak today. and holy SHIT there was a lot of people.
that said, the speech was excellent. he covered all of the issues i was interested in hearing about and specified how he would achieve these goals....
yesterday i carved pumpkins with mat at his work party. i really wanted to make a penis pumpkin, but i didn't want it to negatively reflect on him at work. but he reminded me that he was quitting in a few days, so i should go ahead. so as you can probably see by the profile pic, i did. here's how it looks all lit up. lovely:

i went out to dinner with my dad two days ago. i'm not sure if i've ever mentioned how kick ass my dad is. we went to the essen haus and drank beer. then to the thai restaurant, and he told me a story about school...
my dad is a biology teacher at my old high school, and the multimedia class makes a news kind of program every week. last week, they interviewed his class and asked kids what their favorite thing was to dissect. he gave them each things to hold up for the camera, those huge worms, giant grasshoppers, etc. then they went to my dad. he set up his life-size human with organs model on a table with a sheet over it. and he put dye all over the sheet so it looked like blood. then he pulled it back and shouted "i like to dissect humans!"
so awesome. he said some people have told him they were weirded out, but a lot of others said "THAT WAS AWESOME!"
