i had a dream that lava erupted from a crater in madison. i was on my way to work. there were hundreds of people out watching, completely stunned.

i knew it was impossible. the landscape here is fairly flat, and it's certainly not volcanic. i thought to myself "is this real? it might be a dream." the experience was so shocking i didn't know what to think. a large part of the city was being destroyed. people were fleeing from buildings.

it was all happening over the campus. there was a building that was half covered in lava where animals were on display. it was moving slowly. everyone was so shocked that this could be happening that no one thought about the animals. i ran down into the building.

there were kitties and gerbils and snakes and fish. i opened cage after cage containing cats and pulled them out. "go kitties, GO!" as i kept rescuing more of them, the kitties i had already freed were twisting around my ankles and rubbing their heads against me. "GO kitties, please!"

then i rescued the gerbils. then the fish. i accidentally put a saltwater fish in a freshwater tank. my dad was there and he had a little net. he fished it out and put it into the saltwater tank. the fished looked at me and said "but in this tank, that big fish will eat me!" i didn't know what to do... he had to be there or he'd die anyway.

then i went back, but it was too dangerous to save the snakes....
