last night i had a dream that there were 4 bunnies (and 2 kitties) on my childhood neighbor's lawn. i was sitting there with mat, playing with the kitties. then a big wolf ran up and tried to grab one of the rabbits for a meal. i was horrified. i screamed and ran right up to the wolf and said "you get AWAY! GO! LEAVE THE BUNNIES ALONE!" it suddenly occured to me that i was standing right next to a wolf and trying to stop him from a meal, and he could probably easily take me down instead.

the wolf ran around the house and came back for the bunnies again. this time i was near hysterical. it wasn't afraid of me and i had to DO something. he narrowly missed his swipe and went to circle the house again.

i got a box and put all the bunnies into it with a box of graham crackers. i ran the box across the street into my old house. the door was open and i went inside. i cut through to the back yard, and it occurred to me that the new owners might not like some stranger breaking into their house. i'd just have to lie, i figured, and tell them i was so mentally distraught that i forgot i didn't live there anymore.

i went WAY into the back yard, almost into the field. i put the bunnies there on the lawn, and put a full graham cracker each next to them. i wasn't sure if they'd eat them, but then one or two of them started to nibble on it. so i left the package open nearby just in case.

i noticed that the new owners' daughter was playing on the swingset. she hadn't seemed to notice me. but i figured she wouldn't tell anything.

back in the house, the parents had come back and were examining the open doors. i went around a few houses and exited back across the street near some girl sunbathing in a skimpy bikini.

then i woke up.
