ok time for a new journal entry, since i'm not sure i knew what i was saying in the last one, or that anyone else did either. regardless, i'm going to a movie with said person tomorrow, and we'll see how that goes.
i had meant to get up at 5:00 this morning to finish my reading for class, since i knew we were going to discuss it this morning. however, i woke up at 7:45 and don't recall turning the alarm off. so i caught the bus for my 8:00 class and skimmed what i could on the way, late. i came in 15 minutes late and discovered a nightmare... they were going around the whole room, and each person was to give an individual synopsis of the chapter his or her group was assigned. i also discovered that the book i had skimmed, and the one that, even if i would have gotten up at 5:00 to read, was the wrong book. it's understandable, since we read a book a week and the title had two of the same key words in it.
so i did the only thing i could do. i made sure i looked as though i might puke, and then i ran out of the room. perhaps not the most responsible thing, but i can't deal with humiliation that early in the morning.
on the way home i collected some beautiful orange and red and yellow leaves, and i'm going to use them in an art project. i decided that ultimately, it was more important for me to enjoy the changing of seasons than to dwell on my laziness and slipping grade in the class. sometimes i get so stressed out about it, and i have to remind myself to put things into perspective:
if i fail a test, hell, if i fail the whole class, if i drop out of college and end up having wasted thousands of dollars.... for real. if that's the worst it could get, i've got it pretty good. in the grand scheme of things, 1 college class is not that big of a deal. don't freak out, man. whew.
