i was afraid it would get lost in the mail and some crazy housewife would end up with naked pics.
i'm at my parents' house... on 28 k! i don't come back here very often because this town is awful. it makes me so depressed to see people from high school, still here, working at the piggly wiggly or the burger king. i just want to shake them and scream "god why! why didn't you LEAVE here?! there is a world outside!"
seems like i never really knew that until i left. i thought that maybe i was just doomed to be made fun of by hicks forever.
anyway..... i had a dinner party at my house last night and it went over really well. we'd planned to only invite 5 or 6 people, and like 20 people showed up. i don't even know how they knew, but there was so much good food! and wine coming out the ears and PIE! good god.
later we went to the lake and played in the sand. imogen buried my hair and even after showering i'm still picking little rocks out of my scalp. but it was lots of fun.
i took the bus home early this morning. my dad showed me the new gardens they've been working on. the yard is like a jungle. there's even a pond with a waterfall. it's beautiful. and they do it all themselves too.
my parents made a moon garden below their window in the back yard... it's moonflowers and other bright white flowers that seem to glow at night, and you can smell them all the way upstairs.
i sat in the swing with my dad for a while and watched the koi in the pond.
me: "that one with the pink face looks like he was in an accident."
dad: "yeah, it kinda looks like his face got seared off."
my parents are pretty cool.

your parents are pretty cool. i love jungle settings. someday when i have my own house and some money...and possibly some patience, i think id have to make a set up like that. and does your hometown suck as bas as mine? i know this girl that STILL works at the dairy queen and i worked with her as my first job. its quite sad. at least i have the will and want to leave here.
