Ahhh, sweet, sweet biting cold of December, with that I'll tart a new version of an old rant. I'm sure most of you know just how annoyed I get with the selfish acts of ignorant people. My biggest pet peeve of late are the transit bus hero's and shivering little cowards.

This stuns me every time I see it, I promise I'm not making this blog to promote myself as any kind of gentleman, for there is an airline stewardess out there that can attest to the opposite. wink

It's -40 with wind chill, about 8 of us huddle, shivering and blue, waiting for the bus to take us to a place we don't really want to spend our day. We're all freezing, no one anymore then another, at least you would think.

The bus finally arrives, the doors open with a wisp of heat mockingly stolen away by the by the cruel biting wind. With promise of electric generated heat to crack your eye's and make your nose bleed just three steps above you. Stepping aside, knowing that the bus isn't going anyplace without you, you let that little Polish woman with brood in tow make her way on first. It's the right thing to do, hell it may even cancel some of the bad Ju Ju you earned spanking that dumb little coat check girl this weekend past, weather she liked it or not, someone somewhere is keeping track. Rest assured.

Stepping aside, you wonder if Karma will dock a bit from your good deed when you realize that the people you have permitted to enter first are acting as a wind shield. Naa, you start thinking that way and next thing you know, Karma will have a fraction calculation to numb your mind. You think -40 is something.
Enter freezing coward, usually found smoking inside of the bus shelter, blissfully unaware of the no-smoking sign etched into the glass, forcing the non-smoking majority to stand outside breathing wisps of smoke all their own.

The bus pulls up (permit me to re-play this part) his eye's break from the glaze and brighten up like a 14 year old with the prospect of a hummer. He tosses the butt aside, never minding those in the way of his wayward pitch, thrusts out his arms and makes a break for the doors before they've a chance to open. Child, mother, young and old alike pinwheel in all directions. Young polish Cathy is saved a grisly, slushy death neath the rolling wheels of the bus by her wild eyed mother's frantic yankings on the leash tethering them together. Where are those brave purse yielding old ladies to put scum like this in the proper place you ask? Well that is a rant all it's own, respect for elders. An amazing thing that, but then again this is coming from a guy who avoids the whole ornery cat food eating lot of them.

So why didn't I say something you may now be asking. Well, to tell the truth, all 5'7 150pds of me was thinking about how I was going to bind that lovely 6'3 blond to a wooden chair with nothing on but a trail of ice and the torturing tickle of a feather. Does this constitute as bad Karma? You decide.

Caio.
