A recent e-mail sent to Progressive Insurance:
For the most part, my experience w/ Drive insurance has been unremarkable. I attribute this mostly to my lack of claims or issues. However, one thing infuriated me and led to my decision to get auto insurance from another provider.
I recently moved from the quiet country into a nearby city. I knew my rate would increase, but I was downright insulted when you prorated my next payment (from $262 to $517) to make up for the previous months spent in the country at a cheaper rate. Considering I was NOT living in the city during this period, I equate this with theft on the part of Progressive Insurance. That you ever put such a policy in place illustrates the attitude you have towards your customers, which is clearly not as friendly and helpful as you like to portray.
Thank you for robbing me of $255, which I assure you has led to me never using you or recommending you again.
