if people do not like you or are mad at you should they tell someone else or you?

They should tell you, or they shouldn't tell anyone at all. If they are going to tell someone other than you, it should be someone who has no connection at all, not someone who knows you. And it should be just to figure out whether or not they are an a-hole for being mad at you.
