Everything I’ve seen and read about Wednesday 13’s Undead Unplugged tour in Britain has made me so unbelievably jealous.I need this to happen in Australia next year.
I feel like Wednesday isn’t appreciated anywhere near as much as he should be as a singer and especially as a songwriter.
All the praise heaped on him is that he’s fun and that he’s irreverent and all the usual horror punk/shock rock banalities. Which is absolutely all true, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like his songs and his music are unfairly written off as ‘simple’.
I think this sort of thing is the sort of thing that will start to challenge that pre-conception.
I remember seeing on here a youtube video of him performing Til Death Do Us Party at one of the shows, which incidentally is one of my all time favourite W13 songs, and even stripped back and acoustic it still retained all the qualities that made me love it so much and it stands as a strong song in it’s own right.
