So I called the vet today and found out that I can take the cats in and it won't cost me all that much.
For a general checkup it will cost me about $43 for one cat and $38 for the next one if I take them in at the same time or take the second one in within two weeks of the first one.
The rabbies shot is going to cost $17 per cat. And I just have to pay a small couple of dollar fee for disposal for the rabbies and any other equipment they need to use during the visit.
So total between the two cats to get them in there and checked over and get their rabbies shots it will cost me about $120. Not too bad, I was thinking alot more.
If they decide that I need to get them the distemper shots it will cost about $20 for each cat. Still not too bad.
So I made an appointment for the 17th and then for the 24th. I decided that it's a bit more affordable if I bring them in one at a time. After this is done I won't have any restrictions about getting a kitten.
But even that will wait until we get our utilities set up, it might be towards the end of september when we start looking for a kitten again unless one just happens to fall in our lap. I'm kinda hoping sooner but I can wait.
