I just re-read a couple of old emails that Matt sent me during his last deployment. Gettin' all teary-eyed. I love him so damn much. . .
Im sick as fuck, btdubs. Feels nice. Started out as a sore throat last week, then a sinus infection, and now a full-blown upper-respiratory infection. I hate it. I just have to make it through a half week of classes, and then finals.
On a related note, I just bought some nice coffee. :-)
Because I got my tax return and am no longer broke. I hadn't been to the grocery store in about two weeks. I was living day to day on whatever I could scrounge up around the house. If I had a spare five bucks, I'd buy some spinach or whatevs.
I love food. I dropped $55 at Trader Joes. Mostly raw and dried fruit. It's warm outside. That's all I want when the weather is nice.
I really want ramen. I know that's disgusting, but I do. The steam and salt are nice when you feel like bullocks. But I haven't succumb to these disgusting urges. I just drink lots of coffee and tea. AMong other things. ;-)
I think I have an eye infection too.

Those of you who've been my friends for a while will recall that my old bicycle was stolen off of my front porch back in October. Meanies. But I replaced it with a 70s Schwinn World. It's fucking sweet. Fits me perfectly, totally comfortable ride, even with the skinny-ass tires. I love it I love it I love it.
But I gotta get to work. Love you.

It really pissed me off.
I've been watching a great Frontline series on PBS about Iraq.
A film crew follows different people (US soldiers, Iraqis, gvmt officials, insurgent families, religious leaders, etc) and lets them tell their stories with very minimal narration.
I knew it was horrifying over there, but I had no idea it was THAT bad.
Fucking asshole republicans saying "the media only covers the ocassional car bomb and not how life is getting so much better for the average Iraqi".

And the shit our soldiers go through everyday.
I thought I had some idea, but no - it's way worse.
