I've been so stressed lately. On top of the medical problems, my puppy accidentally bit me and fucked up my hand, and I'm PMSing.

I went home today.

I can still smell the corn and cowshit a little. . .

I always feel so strange, sad but peaceful, when I'm up there.

Driving home as it got dark.

The mist that settled over the soybeans, the sweet musk of ripe corn. . . Straight, narrow roads with no lights but for the floods at the peaks of silos. . .

I'm lonely.

I want Matt to be back in the US. Even if we're never together, just knowing that he's not getting shot at by Iraqis would make me a million times happier.

Matt is like home for me. That's the only way I explain my attraction to him. He's simple and strong. Kind and honest. Not the best fit, but a solid root to keep me stable. Just like the small town we're from.





My sister's dog is going to have puppies. She's a cocker spaniel. The suspected papamutt is a sheltie. Shocker spaniels.
