People will complain about the healthcare plan, saying the country is under attack. People only care when it's about money. There are couples still FIGHTING for their right to get these benefits, but they can't because they just happen to have a partner of the same gender. These are the kind of battles we need to be fighting. Get over your bastardized sense of patriotism and self-righteousness. Today I saw all these groups of "so and so many people against the healthcare plan" and it fucking disgusts me how many people's updates showed that they joined this group, yet when I joined the "same-sex marriage" group, it just sits and stagnates.
Fuck all you false patriots and your claims of a "Dark Day in US History." I can walk outside and NOT get shot by random insurgents. I can turn on my car and NOT get blown up by an IED. I can go to work, earn money, go to school, and my female family members and friends either have, or can go to school and can vote and not be sold into prostitution. THIS COUNTRY IS NOT SELF DESTRUCTIVE. Try complaining about this healthcare bill without your privilege of internet, Facebook, or electricity. Try complaining about it in concrete room with layers of blankets for your floor, and ONE outdoor bathroom to accomodate an entire neighborhood of your friends and family.

I've been good. Like you, a little tired of all the doomsayers crying about how they think the country is falling apart, but other than that things aren't bad. I don't think the bill is perfect but it's a good first step. Hope things are going well for you too.
