Mixed happy/sad post, I'll start with the good stuff. On top of the package from the folks that i've been waiting for, I found out that ther package that's been sitting in our rec room is also for me. Some kids I've never met before sent a very nice package. Will be sending them a thank you letter as well. Also my dad came home a few days ago (he works as a teacher in Kuwait and only get's to go home for the summer) and that he is getting a job in the States so he can live with my mom and we can visit him more often (we being me and my brother and 2 sisters).
Bad part, We lost a guy in our aid station a few days ago. He was shot in the neck outside our FOB and unfortunately they had to wait for evac until theycould get outta fire. When he got here he was still awake and talking to us. We got him into surgeryand actvated the walking blood bank. We must have put at least 20 units of blood into the guy. Then, suddenly, he was gone just like that. I never knew the guy, but he gave his all and that makes him a hero to me. Rest in peace brother. If there is a heaven, have fun up there.
