It's Valentine's Day. I'm not big on "holidays" created by corporations to boost their bottom line, but I can be a bit of a romantic at heart when the mood strikes me. And for the first time in a while, I have a valentine. Nothing too crazy or serious, just someone I've been talking too and have seen a few times. She even shares my view on this silly day. I decided to ask her to "Be my valentine" and she said yes. And we had a good laugh about it. We're not doing anything for this stupid day - probably won't even see each other given our schedules, but it's nice to have a valentine :)

In other news, I have been making an effort to get to know people and make new friends. I tend to be a loner, keep to myself, and have never been one to make friends easily. Combine that with my tendency to speak my mind and my rather strong opinions on subjects and well, you can guess the rest. But I've been making an effort. One of the results is the above. Others have been mixed. But we'll see.

NJ got a foot of snow yesterday. And some more is expected tomorrow. I heard that this was the 6th major storm and 33rd "winter event" of this season. Mind officially boggled. I don't ever recall a winter this cold and snowy. I only hope that it foretells a coolish summer. If not, we are going through all of this for nothing.
