I thought that I should go to the trouble of telling who reads my blog, not many I suspect, what I am doing now. What I am doing is travelling, right now travelling in southern Thailand. A land of small towns, lots of villages, rice farms, rubber plantations, usually friendly certainly interesting people, and lots of things to see.
Right at this moment I am in a town called Trang, on the west coast of the Malay peninsular. A pleasant small town, maybe 40k people. It is a bit of a tourist town, the beaches, caves, surfing around here draw a crowd. The area of town around the train station is filled with small hotels, tour shops 'free travel advice'. backpacker dormitories, everything the casual traveller needs. Now is the low season, so not so busy.
An interesting mix of foriegners you meet when travelling: from druggies to professors (not always the same). Usually 99/100 a friendly crowd, is your average traveller.
I plan to spend the next few months in Thailand, and then, if all goes well, travel to the Philippines. I place I have never visited.
