It has been a week since my inheritance legal action was finalised. I have been chilling and making plans.

I have decided to return to south east Asia, indefinitely, at least the next two or three years. Right now I cannot see many reasons to stay in Australia. Over the last few years many of my friends have left town, several family members have died, and my two brothers are growing distant from me---not their fault, they have families and such, but I do not. There are only a few people in Perth I am close to. So leaving will not be a big break. Also of course, with the internet no one is ever very far away.

To get ready I am throwing away lots of junk from my house so that I can rent it out. I am also doing a dozen and one things to get ready. Thinking of one month before departure.

Living in a new country is like starting again: new people, new places, new challenges, new opportunities. I have enjoyed my time there, and want more of the same. And, if one is a native English speaker, you can get a job teaching English in most countries of the world. Way to go.
