K settled in in Tennessee. Got back today from the beach and a stint in Atlanta. I got to Atlanta at 5 pm yesterday. Too late for Llona's party and that makes me sad. I so wanted to go to that too. Sorry Llona.
I think that I am going to start doing movie reviews on my page. I want to start with 2 movies that I have seen. The first one is Underworld.
Went to see that movie on the first day. I liked it. I thought that it had a very nice feel to it. Very spooky and sexy. The plot was pretty good and the costumes and the Werewolves looked great. I have to give it a 7 though because of a few things that will probably merit me some nasty journal entries. But im a critic so here goes.
Where are the cool fights????? Werewolves fighting Vampires should be an all out free for all. Should have been LOTS more footage of the Werewolves. Expecially that huge black werewolf. Man he was the coolest. I also wondered why Werewolves and Vampires fight with guns. I mean, aren't they supernatural? Don't they have cool powers? I didn't understand that until the end of the movie. It was the final scene that explained everything to me. No easy way to say this so i'll just toss it out. Vampires fighting without weapons looks like 2gay men at Backstreet going at it. Lots of slapping and swiping and hissing and spitting. There I said it. But other than the gay bar brawl at the end of the film, I loved it. All except the bad leader of the Vampires that made the deal with the leader of the werewolves. Very bad rendition of Gene SImmons being a Vampire. Get rid of him.
That brings me to #2. Pirates of the Carribean.
Hmm what can i say. I loved it. Johnny Depp is still one of the coolest people in my book and will remain near the top of my man crush list. He plays a perfect gay pirate. Flamboyant, flashy and acts like he's on a continual drinking binge. Pulled it off flawlessly and then made some nasty comments about America that everyone was thinking anyway and got some great publicity for it. Can he do anything else? I hope so.
The acting was superb, the fighting a little hokey at times and the comedy could have been curbed just a little. But overall I gave it an 8. 8 for great action, funny drunken gay acting pirate and cool special effects. So go see em both. Worth the money.

*sigh* Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. That right there is a fantasy fest for days.
And yes! please review chick flicks. I recommend Le Divorce. I loved that movie, I'd be interested to see what you thought of it.
