Today I think I will focus on writing a comprehensible blog. Lol. I was just reading my last blog and it barely makes sense. But I don't think you all can really blame me, I was writing a paper at the time and my mind was fried.
Anyways the paper is done, but then my prof made an off handed comment about hating papers that seem to say something and quote a lot of people but don't really explain much of what they are talking about. In addition he hates the papers that dont really have thick analytical definitions. Now I'm worried that he was talking about my paper, I wrote it on how it can be the case that non-reductive mental properties can have causal force. Non-reductive mental properties include the subjective experience of our mental lives that are available to us through introspection.
My argument essentially included a version of ontological emergence. Ontological emergentists suggest that non-reductive emergent properties emerge from systems (like physical systems) but these mental properties can have causal powers on the system itself. While a lot of people are not ontological emergentists, I still think if true it provides a good metaphysical framework for how mental properties, that are non-reductive have causal force on the world that they are embedded in.
Hmm what else is going on? Well my dad and i have gotten into this thing where if one of us has our shirt off, the other one does a wrestling backslap sort of deal to the other, then shout "Woooo!" hahaha okay it might sound pretty assholish but I promise you its hilarious.
