This is a band called Hey Monday and the singer's name is Cassadee. The name of the song by the way is Homecoming.

Now...I attended a concert featuring The Academy Is..., We the Kings, Carolina Liar, and of course Hey Monday. I have been super excited for this show for a while now, since We the Kings are one of my favorite bands....But then a few weeks ago I discovered Hey Monday, (whose album was released on Oct. 7, pick it up) then I saw the video for Homecoming and I made it one of my goals to meet Cassadee, not just because she is incredibly gorgeous, but as you can tell, girl's got pipes. So if the only person I met at this show was her, I'd have been perfectly content.
So before the show, I made a stop at the Hey Monday merch area and asked the guy if the band would come out to meet fans, and he said two of the guys would, and sometimes Cassadee does. I went in and found my sweet spot again, that's right, under the A/C ^_^...But as I was waiting for Hey Monday to come on, I took out my camera and fiddled with it....then I realized that I had left my memory card at home in this very computer. I had forgotten to remove it after uploading stuff from the Anberlin show. Luckily the camera has a small amount of internal memory, so I could still take a limited amount of pictures, but no videos 
. Anywho...I watched Hey Monday's set...which by the way....was AMAZING, they exceeded my high expectations, if any of you have an opportunity to see Hey Monday either on this tour, or another, don't miss out. Cassadee's voice was spot on, and they all have great stage presence, especially guess who 
. After being completely blown away by the amazingness that was Hey Monday, I returned to the lobby/merch area and ran into a bunch of people I've met at other shows, then waited with some other people for the band to make an appearance. From where we were standing, we could see down a hallway that lead to the outside loading area, and we saw some of the band members walking around and talking, so we tried to use some mind control to bring them to us...which surprisingly failed. It took about 30 minutes until Cassadee and one of the other guys made their way out to our area...I tried to restrain any girlish squeals that might slip out as I was standing just feet away from her. After a few people got their autographs and pictures, I jumped in there and asked for an autograph while trying to string together some coherent words, I managed to get a few out before I turned into a bumbling idiot. I was able to force out "Can I have a hug?" And being the sweetheart that she is, she obliged, then I got my picture with her and retreated so that the other people could get their turn.
I returned to a group of friends, my heart still racing, and tried to recover. A little bit later, I saw that she was still hanging over by the merch area, with only a few people around her, so I went back over and asked for another hug 
. Then to my complete surprise I was actually able to carry on a conversation with her. She noticed the pins on my hat and asked what bands I had, so I took it off and showed her, explaining some of the local bands I'm friends with and so on. After a few minutes, my brain must have realized who I was talking to, and decided to turn me back into a bumbling goon. I think it got an "aww" out of her though, so maybe it's not all bad . After the conversation with Cassadee, I was on such a high, I didn't think the night could remain so awesome....But I was wrong, because We the Kings were about to come on stage. Those boys put on one hell of a show, truly a great live band, well just a great band in general. Then after WTK, The Academy Is... closed the show. They were much better than I had expected. I saw them last year open for Fall Out Boy on the Honda Civic Tour, and I didn't remember them being anything too special. But this time, they were pretty great.
After the show, I followed my tradition and went around back to try to meet some of the other bands. Travis from We the Kings came out and signed, I met him earlier this year when I saw them open for Cobra Starship on Valentine's Day, and he said he remembered me (seeing as I was one of the only people out there when he came out to sign after the CS show, I don't think he was just saying it). Then Cassadee came out and when she got over near me, she looked up and saw me, then smiled and said "HEY!". Which gave me a great feeling inside 
. She hung around out there with some other guys for a while before heading to the van. One of the guitarists for The Academy Is... came out and I was able to get his autograph. Then finally, Mr. William Beckett of TAI came out, and was right in front of me before deciding to go to the other end of the crowd to sign autographs....which was a mistake. He never was able to work down the line, he barely made it 10 feet, people the crowd down there just kept getting bigger and bigger. Eventually the security told everyone to go behind another barrier, which I did, but some of the other people didn't seem to be able to process this instruction, because they were standing in front of the barricade...even after the security guard repeated the instruction several times. I guess they just figured out it was no use, so William continued to sign autographs for the people that didn't get behind the barricade...still at the same damn end. After a few minutes the guard said that it was past curfew and that Mr. Beckett had to get back to the bus....-_- that's what I get for following instructions, right? Well anyway, that was pretty much the end of the night. If you have a chance to go check out this tour in your city, DO IT!! It's a great show, all of the bands are really good.
Overall I have to rate the experience 5 out of 5 stars. Cassadee...that's all I need to say.
