I've noticed that when I feel shitty and down I switch to SG for a while to lift my mood or speak my actual mind like I'm doing now. When I need a break from all the BS on Instagram I come here to read back on nice comments and browse the groups for genuine interactions. I get tired and stressed so quickly from trying to keep up elsewhere, SG is my online oasis. You guys are chill and kind and interesting... there's a chance here to build genuine friendships slowly and more naturally. Staff actually help you and do so as personally as they can!
Do you ever evaluate your browsing experience when you jump online? Because I've just noticed this massive difference and realised that maybe I'm throwing my valuable time and energy into a black hole. For me that black hole is Instagram. I've realised that it's designed to make you fail but gives you just enough to make it feel like you have to keep coming back and spamming posts to get ahead of everyone else. Why does social media rope you back in again and again, making you feel shit? They slip an ad in here to your feed, a few between stories, controlling what you see in your feed from people whose work you try to actively follow. It's such a bad place for creators to try to market themselves and yet what other option is there?
This has turned into such a rant so I'll just finish up by saying this:
Here on SG it's sunshine and buttercups and I really do enjoy it. 😂
